Yesterday, my son walked across the gym floor and officially became a Kindergartner. Shakira’s Try Everything blared over the speakers, and I sobbed — that song is tear bait. I’m a sucker for a pop song with a melodic emotional build, and this one got me good. (In the same vein, I stand by David Guetta & Sia’s “Titanium”; it is a classic uplifting pop anthem that makes me feel like I can do anything and everything.)
Speaking of doing everything, one thing I can’t do is make more time in the day. With summer comes camp — and with camp, lots of days off — so I’m switching to a more relaxed, weekly cadence for this newsletter over the summer. Truthfully, most of you won’t notice this switch. But I hold myself to a high bar when it comes to showing up here, so I wanted to give you a heads-up. We’re friends after all, and I live to serve.
Thanks, as always, for reading. In the meantime, I dare you not to cry while listening to Shakira serenade you. (Also — yes, it’s not lost on me that she wrote a song called Try Everything and later reached a deal to avoid trial over a $15 million tax fraud case in Spain. That’s talent.)
Happy summer!
Love this relaxed sched for summer. May we all take note!
That's so sweet ❤️. Maybe you can use the summer to start putting together a book of your fav columns ...I think it would be a best seller !!
